John Nash was one of America's most important mathematicians ever and he himself was a schizophrenic. His eyes were so beautiful, they filled her vision. Strangely, she could hear herself talking in her own mind. Before watching A Beautiful Mind, I didn't know much about schizophrenia. While watching A Beautiful Mind, I was very intrigued by John Nash's behaviors. After watching the movie, an acquaintance of mine, who works at the psychologists" office said, "A schizophrenic patient that comes to the office said to one of the psychologists, "Have you ever seen A Beautiful Mind?

People with mental illnesses deserve respect for the hardships they have endured and we realize that after watching the movie.

When I think of someone with a mental illness I usually think of some guy in a mental institution in a straight jacket.

This movie showed me that mentally ill people can lead very productive and happy lives.

Some people even think it is cool to make fun of people that are suffering from mental illnesses.

This movie showed them that it is a very serious matter and it isn't something to joke about.At half way through the film, we discover that half of the places and situations that occur in the film are only illusions within Nash's “beautiful” mind. affective flattening, alogia, or avolition (DSM-IV,1994).295.30 Paranoid Type –Schizophrenia A subtype of schizophrenia which the following criteria are met: A.This is when we determine that Nash is suffering from a severe illness which is schizophrenia. Patients with schizophrenia have either positive or negative symptoms.Nash experienced severe delusions and hallucinations which were then diagnosed as symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia. The positive symptoms are hallucinations, speech disorganized, delusions, inappropriate laughter, and tears.I learned that sometimes when you are so intelligent, you have so much going on in your brain that you can't deal with it all and are in a way mentally ill.This is a little bit of the information I have learned while watching this movie.Nominated for several Academy Awards, including best picture, best director, and best actor, A Beautiful Mind succeeds in realistically depicting the disturbed thinking, emotion, perception, and behavior that characterizes the disorder, and conveys the arduous task of management of and/or recovery from the disorder.
