There is a common saying that war is never good, peace is never bad.

But if we look back into the history of mankind, it will be cleared that there have been wars since prehistoric ages.

In this essay I will be giving the definition of war and conflict and I will be describing the causes of war and giving examples of wars that have happened because of the conflicts that I will be mentioning in my essay.

The causes of war I will be looking at will be; Politics, Nationalism, Ideology, Land, resources, historical rivalry, ethnic conflict and religion. War is a conflict carried out by force of arms, between nations, states or between parties within a nation which can be on land, sea or in the air, always caused by something.

In recent great wars, millions of men, women and children were killed, many died of diseases, famines and untold sufferings.

Then there are related sorrows and sufferings it causes to those whom it does not kills – the widows, the orphans and mothers rendered children’s. Kennedy stated that, 'Mankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.' War can be avoided.Now it requires retrospection for the whole of human race to think over it for the sake of humanity, otherwise nothing will remain neither war nor humanity.War and Conflict P1- Describe the causes of war and conflict.It was he who established the principle of survival of the fittest.He told that there is a constant struggle for surrival in all nature, both animate and inanimate.Nationalism is the belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively, groups of people are bound together by territory.This is because they don’t want anyone else telling them what to do and they are fine doing it themselves.In this struggle only those will succeed who are the fittest.Thus, war is held necessary without which there will be any development of humanity.But such people forget that war always brings destruction on mass scale. Instead they generate problems and create hatred among nations. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are the greatest horrible faces of the consequence of wars.They forget Mahatma Gandhi’s teaching of non-violence, following which he freed his motherland from the sackles of slavery. It not only hampers the development the nation but also uproots social cohesiveness. Even after 60 years people are suffering from the miseries of war.
