The good news is that, as parents, we can make a choice to consistently expose our kids to media that reflects our own personal values and say "no" to the stuff that doesn't.

The number one influence on kids' media consumption is how their parents think and act regarding media.

I think that's what pretty much we think when it comes to violence.

It's maybe just best for kids to resolve conflict through empathy, compassion, and self-control. Violence is usually replaced with justice and victor. However, in action movies, kids don't normally pay attention to the violence but all the excitement behind it.

Example: imagine this scene - a soldier creeping through a forest, suddenly an enemy jumps out you get shot, blowing you to bits.

The child/adolescent knows it is not real, however their brain experiences it as though it were real. Whenever they see or are in a forest, the scene might come to mind, or they might experience feelings of stress they can't explain. Anxiety, irritableness, anger, unwanted images, stress. It comes down to brain the hell does anyone care about the violence in video games or the really world so god dang it you should let them have the real world in full view and none of this " but i makes them murders" bull. Not to be mean, but you guys are sort of over protective.Kids do know that when you die, you don't respawn. We make such a big deal over guns but guns don't really kill people. I think watching violence helps stress the setting when something looks dangerous.I think it's just how raised and educated we are when on how much bad violence is.This experience has left me feeling like I must be from a different planet.I am not finding any more comments like mine on the internet. From games to cell phones to movies and more, if you're wondering "what’s the right age for…? Read more as much as we were taught not to hit, it's still no use.I think when something has some blood, we call It "violent".Yeah, you gotta decide whether the violence is justified by the story or such. For example, Star Wars does feature a lot of violence, but the fighting is obviously justified; the Empire is completely malicious, and the fighting is entirely bloodless. Seriously, not once have any of the Clones and Droids lain their arms aside to talk about their differences.
